The mobility grants are intended to support visits of researchers and academic staff of foreign institutions of higher education to the Estonian institutions of higher education (HEI) . The mobility grant can be applied for research, scientific work, teaching, cooperation with colleagues etc. The grant is administered by the Education and Youth Board.
Who are eligible t o apply: The academic staff means the persons working in the position of the professor, associate professor, lecturer or assistant of the university according to the equivalent qualification of the foreign countries. The researcher means the persons working in the positions of junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher or leading researcher according to the equivalent qualification of the foreign countries.

Period and conditions
The period of the scholarship holder's stay in Estonia must begin and end during the academic year following the application round. The grant shall be paid to the hosting institution which organizes the coverage or payment of expenses for the foreign researcher.
Grants for foreign researchers can be either short-term or long-term:
- short-term grant shall be paid out for a period of 1 to 9 days in duration
- long-term grant shall be paid out for a period of 10 days to 10 months in duration
Grant amount
- the rate of the short-term grant is 45 euros per day
- the rate of the long-term grant is 660 euros per month
The month is considered to be the 30-day period. The grant period is the period from the first day of work up to the last day of work according to the dates mentioned in the letter of confirmation of the recipient institution. During the period of payment of grant the scholarship recipient should stay in Estonia.
The grant rate for Doctoral studies is equal to the doctoral allowance granted in Estonia and is paid in accordance with the Study Allowances and Study Loans Act. A student who has been awarded a grant for Doctoral studies under this Programme is not eligible for also receiving a doctoral allowance under the Study Allowances and Study Loans Act.

Admission
Admission to the chosen university is separate from the application for the scholarship. The decision to award a scholarship to the applicant does not guarantee his/her admittance to the university. The applicant should submit the required documents to the university according to their entrance requirements. Applicant should have a positive admittance letter from the university before applying for the scholarship.
